LXer Linux News

I do freelance design on occasion. I worked with the owner and daily users of LXer.com: Linux News to redesign the site’s layout. I worked with a plain HTML page (along with the images and CSS) and sent the site owner my work for him to incorporate on LXer. He set up a test version of the site using my layout and let some of the regular users test the site out. This proved very helpful for me because I was able to get feedback concerning font size (“this is a little too small for me to read easily”), color choice (“could that gray be darker?”), and content position (“this section is more important than this”). I really enjoyed that interaction with the end users of the site, and think that is an important part of any application: if it doesn’t suit its users, then what’s the point of creating it?
